Wind affected Kraft Nabisco Championship
Posted by admin as Lpga
Bad weather seems to hit PGA and LPGA golf. At the Kraft Nabisco Championship, we saw the ladies are struggling to do just everything. The desert wind was so powerful and the condition should have been called unplayable. The early starter of Christina Kim and Kristy McPherson enjoy the early round and finished top at 6 under when the late starters were badly affected the the wind.
World number one Lorena Ochoa finished tied 26th at 2 over. Bogeys and double bogey seems to be the normal score which saw Michelle Wie missing several short par putt and finished ta 64th but managed to make the cut.
The biggest casualty would be Ji Young Oh whose ball was blown by the wind and rolled off the green into the hazard at the 18th hole. She chose to take the putt from the original position and ended up with a double bogey. It obviously proved that the condition is unplayable at that stage. How did the LPGA officials concluded that the condition is playble when golf balls move and roll off the green by the powerful wind. It should have been suspended. We feel very bad for Oh and hopefully the weekemd will bring good results for her.
