Teenager Noh Seung yul won the 2010 Malaysian Open at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club beating compatriot KJ Choi after birdied the 72nd hole. One flight ahead KJ Choi birdied the 18th to tie Noh at 13 under while the teenager drove his tee shot far left to the next fairway but with a very good uphill lie for his second shot.

At the same time, the crowd roared when KJ made his birdied and tied Nof at 13 under par for the tournament. When the green was cleared, Noh hit his second shot from the adjacent fairway and the ball went to the left of the green into the cart track which needed him to drop at the grass next to the practice putting greens.

It was not an easy third shot, but he kep his cool and set up an easy 3 footer birdie putts. He commented later that he had many good chip in that probably helped him to win the tournament.

It was a very sweet victory for the teenager and the Malaysian Open has set up a good platform for him to move further in his golfing career and his dream to play in the PGA tour after winning in the European and the Asian tour. Last year he was so close to winning when he was leading the pack after the first round.

Korean and Korean born players have been dominating the Malaysian golf recently after Charlie Wie and Anthony Kang won the recent past Malaysian Open and the crowd favourite KJ Choi also won the Iskandar Open last year. With the win Noh received a cheque of USD333,333 as the winners’ prize money.

Beginners Golf: Have fun playing golf
Are you currently a learner golfer? Do you need to understand how to play golf? If that’s the case, then we really need to talk about what you understand (or presume you know) about playing golf.

Why don’t we start with an easy concept. This arises before you decide to actually grasp or swing the golf club. What you’re believing pertaining to exactly how to play golf or even swinging the club is certainly providing you with almost no chance of hitting your ball well.

The majority of beginner golfers have the notion of lifting the ball up in order to get it in the air. This method is among the single most harmful swing methods in golf. Today i want to look at several things to begin with. Each and every club is especially constructed with loft or upward angle on the clubface. This golf club specification was created to elevate the golf ball without you needing to help it. This particular element, designed with the grooves and the aerodynamic capacity with the golf ball provides the actual ball flight you desire.

Sometimes only a change in thought pattern can accomplish a much better result.

Mingling a thought along with a better movement pattern can easily really quicken the improvement.

Have you ever in your life watched the game of golf on tv? Have you noted the divots that players have on every iron shots? This occurs due to the fact the player has struck down on the ball and applied the actual loft of the club in the right way. Without a doubt, in golf down equals up!

This is how you do it
In the backswing, you should turn your body towards your right hip making certain that your trail shoe keeps stable into the ground. In the downswing you will want to shift your mass by lightly bumping your lead hip towards the target and rotating your hips. This ought to place the bulk of your weight on the left leg. Many players whom are attempting to lift the ball in the air have their weight on the right foot at contact and also have both feet flat on the floor well into the follow through.

This error moves the low point of the golf swing behind the ball and this will mean that you may either hit the ground behind the golf ball and drop massive distance or miss the grass entirely and hit the top of the ball. The topped shot flies really low and once again loses treasured distance.

At impact you will need your hands slightly ahead of the ball having the lead wrist flat and the right wrist bent. I advise that you examine this from a mirror as well as practice from within a doorway where by you could rest the shaft of the golf club on the wall structure. This wall exercise will certainly supply you the feel with regard to exactly where your hands are at impact.

The next drill I advocate is certainly to practice a line drill, draw a extended line using a piece of chalk, spray paint or even merely make a line within a sandy or dirt region. With your feet set either side of the line practice moving the the club and striking the front side of the line (target side). We are striving to generate a divot the sizing of a dollar bill. Too large a divot and energy is wasted, too small indicates there is not enough power heading down to compress the golf ball. If you can do this Three or more occasions in a row after that you are ready to put a golf ball down. Simply make the exact same swing movement and the golf ball should get in the way of the downward hit and fly directly into the air.

Lee Westwood, race to Dubai

Lee Westwood won the Dubai World Championship here on Sunday to make him Europe no 1 player. He carded the new course record of eight under 64 for a total 23 under par. Starting the with a 2 shots lead over Ross McGowan, Lee made no mistake through the whole 18 holes from tee to the green with all 100% fairway hits and green in regulation.

It is hard to find anyone who is so much in focus other than Tiger Wood but Lee showed that he too can be very as good as the best leaving everyone in the field with 6 shots. Next year it will be interesting to see if the Englishman can win a major championship and hopefully the British Open or the US Open.

World No. 2 Phil Mickelson won the 2009 HSBC Championship by beating the world best including his playing partner world no. 1 Tiger Woods. It was one of the most interesting final day round in any competition with Woods lost 3 shots with a double and a bogey in the front nine before making charge later at the back nine, but it was a little too late for the world no. 1.

It was the big easy Ernie Els the top favourite at the final hole but he like what he did before hit his 2nd shot to the par 5 into the water and ended up bogey hoping that Phil will make mistake for a play off. Phil Kickelson proved that luck was on his side despite some amateur type of shot at the 16th where his 64 degree wedge went through the club but managed to save par for a putt outside the green. He needed just to par the 18th to take the championship.

Nick Watney and Ryan Moore was among the 2 relatively unknown players who managed to put a good fight with the world top rank players. We will sure to see more from the 2 americans and probably they will be in the team at the next Ryder cup.

Ping just launched the new Ping G15 driver and said to be even better than the tour leading G10 driver. With a big 460 cc club size this driver will surely become the hot selling item just like the earlier version of the G10. Targetted for the mid handicap and the better players, this club is believe to give the maximum forgiveness and even have the draw version.

Next is to test this club at the range when there is demo day by Ping. If the feel is good and the distance is better, it is surely something that we could consider to replace some of the older clubs in the bag. This time Ping may find its way to the bag.

Taylormade Japan introduces its all new Burner Forged Irons. Forged from premium soft S25C, the new Burner Forged provides wonderful feel and control coupled with performance. The Burner forged utilizes inverted cone technology and a new cavity design to increase the sweet area over the previous model reducing distance loss on miss hits. The new Burner Forged also has a multi functional sole made for versatility in any lie.

The new Burner Forged features a pearl satin finish to reduce glare and reflections. The iron features some offset to help players square the club at impact and closer to traditional lofts (26* 5 iron) for playability.

The set look quite similar to the earlier version of Taylormade R7 forged and should be available for the market very soon. It comes with the popular NS Pro 950GH shaft or the Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara for the graphite lovers. This will be the set golfers will love to own and of course myself being a fan of Taylormade.
With 8 shots behind the overnight leader Benn Barham, Rafael shot his record lowest round of 60 to finish 20 under par for the tournament. It was really a sweet first victory for Rafael and the win has improved his Race to Dubai position to no 43.

Benn Barham did what he could and shot a round of 69 and the first victory will need to wait a bit longer. It is nice to see many first time winner in the European tour this year and certainly Rafael will be one of the the rising star in golf we hope to see in the coming years

On the day two, PGA winner Kenny Perry is leading at Augusta with 9 under par. Tiger Woods finished a disappointing even round on Friday and is trailing at two under par. We seems to forgot that Kenny Perry is very consistent with his game this season and he may well become the next Masters champion.

On Saturday is a moving day and we wil see if there is any movement on the leaderboard. Anthony Kim scored the lowest round and was back to contention after and impressive low round of 65.

There were many events happening too on the second round. Gary Player finally said goodbye to competitive golf after competing in the masters more than anyone else. Mr. Player was indeed a great player and he will always will as he made some great players like Trevor Immelman and the many great players from South Africa who are now playing the best golf of all time.

With the best talent that was loan to him as what Mr. Player said, he had made golf such a wonderful and beautiful game and created a lot of smiles on faces of the earth. To Gary Player, we thank you.
